Our team will strive to make sure your child has a positive experience while maintaining the highest level of safety and care. Our pediatric dental office has the latest state-of-the-art equipment to make sure your child has access to everything they may need. We built our office with children in mind. We offer a fun, comfortable environment, which ensures an enjoyable and productive experience.

We always consider all appropriate treatment options and try to present the most conservative plans when possible. It is important for us to be helpful to our patients and families and answer any questions you may have regarding your child’s dental care. Starting early with prevention and good habits will help build a life-long smile and positive relationship with Dr. Neste and her team.

Thank you for trusting us with your

child’s dental needs.

Office Hours

Our office will do its best to schedule appointments at your convenience. We find that young or anxious children have a better experience in the morning. At this time of day, children are well rested, refreshed, and more cooperative.

School-aged children can be scheduled throughout the day for routine visits. Sedation appointments are only scheduled in the morning. We would appreciate a 48 hour cancellation notice.

Payment for professional services is due at the time dental treatment is provided. This includes deductibles and

co-insurance. We accept cash, personal checks, and most major credit cards. Click here for online payment.

We create an individualized treatment plan for all patients. Our treatment coordinator will review the recommended treatment and the estimation of your dental insurance reimbursement.

Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan that fits your timetable and budget and gives your child the best possible care.

First Visit

Dr. Neste and her team are dedicated to great dental experiences.

We, along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, recommend you bring your child in by his or her first birthday.

During your first visit, you will be introduced to our Pediatric Dental Team, given an office tour and discuss your child’s unique smile and ways to keep it beautiful for years to come.

Depending on the age of your child, he or she will either be given a knee-to-knee examination (where your baby’s head will rest on our doctor’s knee while their body is on your lap) or a regular exam in the doctor’s chair.

Your initial exam will last approximately 40 minutes. Oral hygiene instructions will also be given with suggestions to help your child care for their own teeth. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.

We request that you complete our

First Visit Forms prior to arriving for your appointment. This helps our office keep your and everyone else’s  scheduled visit on time.

Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Neste is a  pediatric dentist, specializing in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Through extra years of schooling, training, experience, and certification, a pediatric dentist is uniquely qualified to treat the dental needs of infants, children, and adolescents.

Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist?

A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education.

We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their “cavities fixed” but rather to prevent them. Our mission is to provide all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.

What is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist?

When a Pediatric Dentist is Board Certified it means that the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry or ABPD certifies that the dental care being provided is based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents and patients with special health care needs. Certification by the ABPD provides assurance to the public that a Pediatric Dentist, like Dr. Neste, has successfully completed accredited training and a voluntary examination process designed to continually validate the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to the delivery of quality patient care.

Establishing Your Child’s Dental Home

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry encourages parents and other care providers to help every child establish a dental home by 12 months of age. Establishing a dental home provides some key components to dental care for your child including...

Comprehensive oral health care including acute care and preventive services.

Individualized preventive dental health program based upon a caries-risk assessment.

Anticipatory guidance regarding growth

     and development.

Plan for acute dental trauma (emergencies).

Dietary counseling.

Referrals to dental specialists when care cannot directly be provided within the dental home.

Referral at an age determined by patient, parent, and pediatric dentist.

Hi, I'm Dr. Kaitlin Neste.  I am a Kitsap County native and am so grateful to be serving the community that I grew up in.

I graduated from Central Kitsap High School and obtained my undergrad degree in biochemistry from the University of Washington. I liked being a Husky so much that I stuck around for dental school at the UW too. I graduated with my D.D.S., finishing in the top 5 of my class, and I was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.

I have always loved working with children, so pursuing pediatric dentistry was an easy fit for me. I completed a two-year pediatrics residency at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. During my residency I received extensive hands-on training at the leading children’s hospitals in the Dallas area and was trained by some of the leaders in the Pediatric Dental community. I am an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and the Kitsap County Dental Society.

In my spare time I love staying active. I met my husband, Jeff, while at the UW, and together we love cheering on the Huskies. We love the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and you can find us most weekends out running, hiking, hanging out at
the beach, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. We have one daughter, two sons, and one fur baby.   Just ask me and I’ll show you lots of pictures of them!

We can’t wait to see you!
